Everything is growing (except the peas)....

I have sown Cosmos, Sunflowers, rocket, lettuce, tomatoes, peas, Chinese lanterns and some sort of wildflower mixture.

Everything is growing. Except the peas. I'm not very good at watering during the week. And I only remember to open the coldframe at the weekend.

But still...the seeds seem to want to grow.

Come on peas...You are nearly my favourite!

Lauren Child

I LOVE the illustrations of Lauren Child (she is well known for 'Charlie and Lola'). I recently saw a fantastic, interactive exhibition of her work designed for children. I find the way she layers textures, drawings and fabrics (most of which have meaning from her own life) really appealing.

I want to touch the pictures (but am scared of leaving sticky fingerprints and ruining the beautiful graphicy, papery pristineness)

(A secret- shhhh...) I bought a book for me and pretended it was for my nearly-four-year-old daughter.

Today I'm inspired...

...by lovely things....the floral print on my greeny tea-dress...Su Blackwell's beautiful books...everything that is starting to grow again in my garden...the sunshine.

Actually I really want to learn to knit!
